I created this blog for the children's portion of the bi-annual Dumas McAuley Robinson Family Reunion to be held July 1st - 4th, 2011 at the Embassy Suites Charlotte-Concord.
This blog will hopefully allow for easy, effective communication and of course be found helpful not only to the parents of children attending the reunion, but also those who are just interested in what the kids will be doing and how they may be able to help make the reunion more enjoyable for them.
I want to start off by saying I am very excited to be hosting the children's portion of the reunion; I have some really fun and memorable activities and events planned that I think the kids will be really excited about as well.
Most people who know me know that I am always on the hunt for fabulous things at a great price and this event is no exception. I am striving to keep the cost low for parents, not due to the economical climate, but because as a parent myself to 2 wonderful children, I know that there's no reason to spend double digits on a child's meal when they're only going to eat 2 or 3 bites and that should be true no matter how well the economy is doing.
In order to help keep cost as low as possible, I am asking, begging the members of the family to get involved in the fundraising efforts and this really rings true for parents of children who will be partaking in the events of the weekend. The sooner the better, so I will be updating the blog soon with information regarding fundraisers I, along with the rest of the children's committee, will be organizing, so be on the look out for some great things ahead!
